Last August, a golf tournament was held to raise funds exclusively for the Local 39 Educational Scholarship Fund. This fund provides four-year, $15,000 per year, college scholarships to two eligible High School Seniors.

The response from Local 39 Members was great. Children and grandchildren of Members throughout the Union’s jurisdiction sent in their applications and the winners were announced by Business Manager Kalmar at this year’s Apprentice Graduation Dinner.

Many Members have offered positive comments about the scholarship program and wanted to show their support. With this in mind, this year’s golf tournament, scheduled for July 23rd, will offer a way for Local 39 Members to show support for the scholarship program and the deserving students that it benefits.

Introducing the “Distinguished Members Educational Scholarship Fund Sponsorship”

Individuals and/or groups, from a particular work location, now have the ability to make a tax-deductible donation in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300) to the Local 39 Educational Scholarship Fund. Those individuals and/or groups will be acknowledged in the event program at the golf tournament and on tournament signage. Additionally, all sponsors shall receive a framed “Certificate of Appreciation” for their support of this important program.

Simply fill out the sponsorship form and mail it to the address indicated, along with a check payable to the “Local 39 Educational Scholarship Fund”.
